Help drive impact as an ambassador for the Employee Giving Program.

The Employee Giving Program is now recruiting King County employees to serve as ambassadors for their work groups and sites for the 2026 Annual Giving Drive. The Employee Giving Program was established in 1988 by employees to provide employees with a means to support their favorite nonprofit organizations. It is the only authorized charitable solicitation of King County employees. 

Since the founding of the Employee Giving Program, ambassadors have been the heart and soul of this program. Ambassadors ensure that every King County employee has an opportunity to connect to a cause they care about. Last year, that resulted in 2,425 volunteer hours and $2.53 million pledged to nonprofits.

Ambassadors contribute to a great cause and reap many benefits such as building their leadership skills and meeting new people from all over the County. The average commitment is 4–5 hours of preparation, planning, and training before the Annual Giving Drive and 1–2 hours per week during the Annual Giving Drive..

When the experience is supported and voluntary, this is the average ambassador outcome:

• 20% of employees an ambassador works with pledge, raising $8,000 (This can plant 8,000 trees or provide 20,000 meals!)
• More engagement at work! Ambassadors and those who help at their work sites are 22% more engaged than employees who do not use the program. Contribute to teamwork, morale, gratitude, pride, and productivity!
• Provide powerful — possibly life-changing — moments of meaning for co-workers.
• Put it on your resume — ambassadors develop key skills such as organization and multitasking, communications and marketing, working cooperatively with employees at all levels of the organization, and patience.
