Employee Giving Program: Year-Round Opportunities to Stay Involved!

Did you know that the Employee Giving Program (EGP) operates year-round?  The fun and satisfaction of getting involved with your coworkers and your community doesn’t have to stop when the Annual Giving Drive comes to a close. Now is a great time to get involved with the Program.

Join the EGP Committee

30 years in operation, 30 million dollars raised.  If we made it look easy then you can thank the EGP Committee.   This National Award-Winning committee is composed of 15 King County employees who work year-round on strategic planning, Employee Engagement, Communications, Policy, and so much more. As a committee member, you will network and build relationships with your coworkers from across the County. It’s a chance to practice skills that might otherwise sit dusty on a shelf, and it’s also a supportive place to practice new talents!

The Employee Giving Program is committed to diversity and representing the county workforce. We are specifically seeking representatives from the following Departments but welcome interest from all: County Assessor, Elections, Prosecuting Attorney, District Court, Superior Court, Sheriff’s Office, and Department of Judicial Administration. You can learn more about the Committee HERE, or by contacting EGP Program Manager, Junelle Kroontje or the Employee Engagement chair Matthew Perkins.

New! Take Paid Time Off To Volunteer

Did you hear? King County is offering a new program where eligible employees can use paid time off to volunteer at one of our 1100 associated charities. Take a paid day to dedicate to a cause that is near to your heart, from working with rescue animals to helping out at a food bank. You can learn more HERE.

Refer your Favorite Nonprofit

Nonprofits apply annually in the spring to be in the King County Employee Giving Program for the upcoming year. Now is the time to refer them so they can learn about our eligibility requirements, get on our mailing lists for workshops, and so you can support them year-round!  Refer your nonprofit here.

Get involved. Stay involved!
