The Annual Giving Drive is ending and King County employees have made incredible efforts in making a positive change in communities throughout King County and beyond. The Annual Giving Drive helps foster a sense of connection, responsibility, and shared purpose. Throughout the drive we have seen employees contribute their time, resources, and skills to help others, creating a positive ripple effect that benefits entire communities.
Some of our Employee Giving Program Ambassadors have shared what being part of the Annual Giving Drive means to them.
“I enjoyed being part of the Annual Employee Giving Drive because it allowed me to give back and make a positive impact on our communities here in Washington State. Working alongside others in the DHR was a fun way to get to know others in the department while coming together for a good cause.” – April Logan, Business & Finance Officer III, Department of Human Resources
“Being a part of the Employee Giving Program allows us all a platform to give back to those in our community. As a department, we engage in team-building activities through special events while simultaneously supporting those in need. It’s a win-win. Each small contribution adds up, and collectively, our efforts significantly impact local nonprofits.” – Latosha Hanson, Administrative Specialist III, Department of Judicial Administration
“With over 1,300 Non-profits being registered with Employee Giving Program. Each non-profit in the catalog represents a need in our community and as we all know the needs are always greater than the resources. I’m so grateful the Employee Giving Program exists and grateful to be a part of it, together our small acts can have big impacts on those that need it most.” – Debbie Baker, Human Resource Analyst, Public Health – Seattle & King County
“What I love the most about the Employee Giving Program is that it gives every King County employee the chance to support the causes and communities that matter most to them. I think there’s something wonderful in knowing that we are helping to shape the world we live in. Employees recognize how hard and important the nonprofit organizations’ work is and they want to be a part of it. It’s easy to focus on what divides us, but the Annual Giving Drive is the perfect example of how impactful we can be when we all work together.” – Beth Ratzlaff, Employee Giving Program Manager, Department of Human Resources
So far, we have raised over $1.6 million, made over 500 new connections, and thousands of employees have participated in some way. This directly showcases how small acts indeed make big impacts.
