We hope that you utilized the extra hour from the end of daylight savings to participate in the Annual Giving Drive. If you did not, then there is no need to worry because there are still two more weeks to participate. Don’t miss your chance to join the hundreds of employees that have made a difference this year. We have highlighted a handful of Employee Giving Program organizations below to help you find a cause that you care about and wish to support. View them all here.
As we welcome the start of a new month, we recognize that Native American Heritage Month is celebrated throughout November. This is an opportunity to honor and recognize the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples in the United States. It serves as a reminder of the enduring resilience and strength of Native American communities due to the impacts of colonization, as well as Native Americans’ essential role in shaping the nation’s history and future. We have highlighted EGP organizations that are Native-led and center Indigenous communities.
- #23. United Indians of All Tribes Foundation, 9835: “We provide culturally appropriate social, educational, and cultural services to American Indians & Alaska Natives in western WA, and community-wide cultural events and activities.”
- #24. Seattle Indian Health Board, 9380: “Provides primary care for American Indian/Alaska Natives in King County including medical, dental, chemical dependency, mental health, DV case management, youth & elder services.”
- #25. Mother Nation, 9903: “Offers culturally informed healing services, advocacy, mentorship and homeless prevention services to support the success of Native American women and families.”

It is also the time of year for Diabetes Awareness month, observed throughout November, that serves as a vital platform to shed light on diabetes that effects millions of people worldwide. During this month, awareness is raised about diabetes, its prevention, management, and the importance of early diagnosis. Type 2 diabetes is a significant health issue because of the potential for serious and life-altering complications. It can lead to several health problems, including heart disease, kidney problems, vision impairment, nerve damage, limb amputations, and a higher risk of infections. We have highlighted EGP organizations that focus on diabetes research, prevention, and support.
- #26. American Diabetes Association, Washington, 4016: “Committed to finding a cure for diabetes, improving care and providing information and support to help Stop Diabetes.”
- #27. Benaroya Research Institute, 9520: “An international leader in autoimmune disease research that is dedicated to finding causes and cures to eliminate autoimmune diseases such as Type 1 Diabetes, MS and Arthritis.”
- #28. Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation, 5017: “We fund research into treatments. Conducts screenings, education programs to save lives from blindness, kidney failure, amputations.”
