Annual Giving Drive: Reasons 15 – 22

We are in the fifth week of the Annual Giving Drive and are making great progress. King County Employees have raised over $600,000 and more than 600 employees have participated. Witnessing the power of our employees is incredible. There is still time to participate in the Employee Giving Program’s Annual Giving Drive and there are so many organizations to support. View them all here.

#15. King County has a strong history of supporting and uplifting arts, culture, and humanities that reflect creativity, shared history, and diversity of perspectives. There is a plethora of organizations that create spaces and places that build cultural wealth, connect across differences, and tell stories of vibrant communities. Arts, culture, and humanities help us understand the human experience, fostering empathy, critical thinking, and appreciation of the richness of our region. We’ve highlighted a few EGP organizations that are pillars in King County that do just that.

#19. The end of October is widely known for celebrating with tricks or treats on Halloween night, but it is also, potentially lesser known, as a time to celebrate Bob Ross’ birthday on October 29. Bob Ross, beloved for his soothing voice and joyful manner, was an iconic painter and the host of the television series “The Joy of Painting.” He reminded us that art can be a source of peace and happiness, so in the spirit of “happy little trees” and “happy little clouds,” we have highlighted a few more EGP organizations that specialize in arts, culture, and humanities.
